Labelexpo Global Series
Biennial Labelexpo exhibitions take place in Europe, America, India and Asia. Showcasing the latest working machinery and materials for the industry, they’re used as major platforms for manufacturers to launch new products to the market place. They are supported by the annual educational Label Summit in Latin America which alternates between Brazil and Mexico. Designed to cover and share current trends and technologies, Label Summit Africa has been added to the 2012 calendar in view of the rising importance of this emerging market.
The portfolio also includes Gulf Print & Pack, which is the largest exhibition for the printing industry in the Middle East and North Africa. Attended by 8,187 visitors, delegates came from 83 countries (65 in 2009) and 36% of the overall attendance was from outside the United Arab Emirates (30% in 2009) – both strong indicators of the industry’s growth across the entire region. The largest event in 2011, Labelexpo Europe, enjoyed its most successful year in its 30 year history despite widespread, challenging trading conditions. Visitor numbers grew by 19% while 80% of exhibitors re-booked their space onsite – the highest percentage in the show’s history. Labelexpo Asia also reported an increase in visitor numbers – up 9% on 2009 and reported a 21% rise in exhibitor numbers.
Publications and new media
Tarsus also produces a series of label publications, including the industry’s only dedicated global label media outlet - Labels & Labeling magazine, electronic newsletters and several technical reference books including ‘Environmental Performance and Sustainable Labeling’ which was launched at Labelexpo Europe. Labels & Labeling is available in print and online and provides label printing professionals with the latest news, feature articles, webinars and video demonstrations on current technological developments and market changes from around the world.
Building on the successful launch of the Package Print Worldwide website and e-newsletter in 2010, Tarsus unveiled a quarterly full print version of the journal. In addition, the Group also announced a series of Packprint Summits to take place in Dubai, Miami and Berlin next year.
