The upcoming Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) and the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Middle East (MRO ME) shows will take place next week on 31 January to 2 February and will be the very last events to be held at the Airport Expo and it is only fitting organisers F&E Aerospace will be the first in and the last out.
F&E Aerospace established in 1989, also organise events such as Middle East Business Aviation show (MEBA) and the world famous Dubai Airshow. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s ambition was to make the Dubai Airshow the world’s leading aviation show, based on this enthusiasm and support from both F&E Aerospace and the government, the development of the Airport Expo began.
Following this, in 1999 the Dubai Airshow’s dedicated venue - Airport Expo opened its doors for the first time to 30,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors, with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum cutting the ribbon at the inauguration ceremony.
Alison Weller, Managing Director, F&E Aerospace, said “When looking back at F&E Aerospace’s history with the Airport Expo there has been considerable growth, when comparing the last Dubai Airshow statistics to 1999 it has almost doubled in visitors and exhibitors, emphasising that Dubai has become the aviation hub of the Middle East.
The upcoming Aircraft Interiors and the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul shows mark the end of an eventful 13 year relationship with Airport Expo, which is closing to make way for the expansion of the Dubai International Airport.
We are seeing phenomenal growth in all of our events, the Airport Expo was a wonderful platform for the last 13 years, but it is time to say farewell, and welcome a new chapter for F&E Aerospace at the region’s newest and biggest airport complex, Dubai World Central.”
