ASANSOR Istanbul 2015 breaks all previous records

Organized by İFO Fuarcılık, the 14th edition of ASANSOR Istanbul, one of the world’s top three elevator exhibitions, took place from 26-29 March 2015 in Istanbul. The exhibition was jointly opened by the Turkish Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Prof.Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu, AYSAD (the Turkish Lift and Escalator Industry Association) Chairman Sefa Targıt, ELA (European Lift Association) Chairman, Philippe Lamalle and Managing Director of IFO Fuarcılık Zekeriya Aytemur. Breaking all previous records, the show occupied more than fifty thousand square meters, almost double the area of the 2013 edition and attracted 434 exhibitors from 28 countries and over four hectic days of business it welcomed 28,278 visitors from 88 different countries. This record number of trade professionals attending has resulted in a 68% of exhibitors already reserving their stands for Asansor Istanbul 2017.

Turkey, which has 5 elevators for each 1,000 people, played host to ASANSOR Istanbul 2015, the International Lift Exhibition, one of the world's top three events in this sector. Organized biennially and held for the 14th time this year, the exhibition featured faster, safer and smarter solutions for elevators which are used in a wide range of locations from residences to shopping centers, healthcare institutions to office buildings. The innovations exhibited at ASANSOR Istanbul 2015 included safety and comfort-based systems intended to prevent elevator accidents as well as cabin designs that combine technology and elegant appearance, visual communication applications and new generation interactive panels.

Asansor Istanbul 2015 hosted 434 exhibitors from 28 different countries including pavilions from Germany, China and Italy. Also suppliers came from the USA, Spain, France, UK, Greece, India, Lebanon, Malta and Bosnia Herzegovina to name a few. The exhibition also established a new record for the number of trade visitors as they came from some 77 cities across Turkey alone. ASANSOR Istanbul 2015 was attended by 28,278 professionals from 88 countries including 6,082 international visitors. Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Egypt, Iraq, India, Russia, Italy and Lebanon respectively saw the highest level of representation.

ASANSOR Istanbul 2015 provided an opportunity to not only demonstrate new products and technologies, but also hosted high quality conferences that were organised to address the challenges and opportunities faced across the global, regional and domestic industry. The sessions included ELA Statistics Committee Chairwoman Ebru Gemici who briefed delegates about “Elevator and Escalator Statistics” and Paulo Tattoli who presented  on “Standards and Risk Analysis”. Esfandiar Gharibaan and ELA Component Committee Chairman Wolfgang Adldinger talked about “New EN 81-20&50 Standard” in their sessions.

The conferences of ASANSOR Istanbul 2015 hosted a very special guest this year. Former Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergün and Gebze Mayor Adnan Köşker participated in a panel discussion titled “What do the Rules Say?”. Mr. Ergün shared his experience with the production sector with regard to “Ministry-Sector relations, the importance of branding and taking new opportunities”.
