F&E Education announces GESS expansion in Indonesia

F&E Education, a Tarsus Group company, is pleased to announce the launch of GESS Indonesia, the next phase of the expansion of its global education portfolio.

F&E Education is the organiser of the renowned Global Educational Supplies & Solutions Exhibition (GESS) in Dubai which attracts over 9000 trade professional from 75 countries, and the new launch event in Indonesia will build on this established brand. GESS exhibitions and conferences enable educational suppliers and solutions providers to access important decision makers in the education sector.

“GESS Dubai has already established itself as the major player in the Middle East education field and now the brand has successfully expanded into Mexico, with the inaugural edition due to run in April 2015. We’re pleased to announce the launch of GESS Indonesia in September 2015, which will allow us to build on this expertise and expand into the largest economy in South-East Asia. Indonesia is an important market for Tarsus, our office in Jakarta has over 40 staff and we have a number of exciting launches planned across a range of different industries,” noted Douglas Emslie, Group Managing Director of Tarsus Group.

“Quality education plays a key role in the economic development of any nation and is one of the key forces in enabling growth. The World Bank predicts that Indonesia will be one of six countries that will account for half of global growth by 2025. Indonesia is foreseen to become the world’s seventh largest economy by 2030, by which time the private education sector is expected to quadruple to become worth $40billion. The launch of GESS Indonesia is very timely and represents a unique opportunity in this strategically important part of the world,” commented Matt Thompson, Project Director of the GESS porfolio.

Indonesia has come a long way since 1973 when 20% of its youth were illiterate. Now only 2% of those aged between 15 and 24 are unable to read. With almost three million teachers and 250,000 schools, Indonesia has the world’s fourth largest education system. The Indonesian government has shown its commitment to the sector by dedicating 20% of its annual budget to education, now in the second stage of its long-term development plan, which is focused on improving the quality of human resources, the development of science and technology and strengthening economic competitiveness.

The immediate interest in GESS Indonesia by worldwide industry leaders clearly indicates that Indonesia will be a major growth market for the education sector. The exhibition and high level conference will provide the perfect platform for educationalists worldwide to meet and find new products and services, and discuss a range of topics about education and its future. GESS Indonesia will be held on the 30 September – 2 October 2015 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Indonesia. For more information please visit www.gessindonesia.com.
