The lift industry hits all the right buttons for business

The International 'Asansör İstanbul' Fair, where global innovations in the lift industry were showcased over the course of four days, has completed another successful edition. 28,868 professionals from 96 countries and 289 exhibitors from 21 countries came to together to attend the Fair at Tüyap Beylikdüzü, covering a 50 thousand square meter exhibition area. Asansör İstanbul is organized by Tarsus Turkey and supported by AYSAD. The next edition of Asansör İstanbul, one of the top three events of its kind worldwide, will take place from 25th – 28th March 2021.

15% increase in International Visitors!

The Chairmen of SEDEFED (Federation of Trade Associations), the ELA (European Lift Association) and AYSAD (Lift and Escalators Industrialists’ Association) all participated in the official opening ceremony. There was a 15% increase in the number of international visitors attending the Fair, a total of 5,780. One in every four visitors were from overseas. Opening the doors to new trade markets for its visitors, the fair also enabled deals to be made that were worth millions of dollars. 

The 16thInternational Asansör İstanbul Fair had a hugely positive effect on the industry in a period were both shrinkage in domestic markets and trade wars in global markets occurred.    

The Global Lift Industry met at Asansor!

The 16thInternational Asansör İstanbul Fair brought together the Turkish Lift Industry; who had a 160-million-dollar export rate in 2017, a 185-million-dollar export rate in 2018 and have a target of 200-million-dollars in 2019, together with the world’ s leading brands. Once again German and Chinese pavilions were featured at the fair. With a particular focus on key domestic manufacturers, a total of 289 companies from 22 different countries attended the fair, including Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, the Lebanon, Egypt and Russia. 

The Deputy Minister of the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, Büyükdede, toured the show

The Deputy Minister of the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, Hasan Büyükdede, visited the 16thInternational Asansör İstanbul Fair, one of the top 3 events of its kind worldwide. He also attended the AYSAD-ELA conference opening and made an opening speech. Büyükdede toured the show together with the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology Provincial Director for Istanbul, Ümit Ünal, AYSAD Chairman Sefa Targıt and Tarsus Turkey Managing Director Zekeriya Aytemur and heard information on the products and services showcased by exhibitors. 

Quicker, smarter and more secure lifts were showcased

Quicker, smarter and more secure lifts were on display, as well as the newest products, machinery, equipment and technologies. Lifts suitable for residences, commercial buildings and hospitals, from in-house lifts to platforms, to goods and services lifts, to escalators and moving walkways were all showcased at the fair. Package lifts were also seen on display in most exhibitor stands. 

In addition to the newest technologies, the industrial agenda was discussed at the fair

International Asansör İstanbul Fair 2019 was not only an exhibition space, but also a platform where the industrial agenda was discussed. Lift safety standards and related subjects were spoken about during the conferences held by AYSAD together with the ELA (European Lift Association). In the national panel, hosted by the fair and moderated by AYSAD Chairman Sefa Targıt, the Formula for becoming a Turkish Brand on a Global Scale was established. The panel, where the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, General Director of Industry and Productivity, Halil İbrahim Çetin, AYSAD Former Chairman and Honorary Member Tunç Timurkan, Board Members Fevzi Yıldırım, Sedat Yıldız and Can Mutlu attended, drew considerable interest.
