This year’s ZUCHEX International Home and Kitchenware Fair, organized by Tarsus Turkey / Life Media with the support of the Housewares Association (ZÜCDER), attracted more domestic and international visitors than in all its 29 year history.
According to Tarsus Turkey General Manager Zekeriya Aytemur, feedback from exhibitors and visitors during Zuchex 2018 International was extremely positive. Aytemur noted that this year’s Fair broke the all-time record of domestic and international visitors to previous Zuchex fairs. He said, “This Fair was the hope for the Turkish Household and Kitchenware Sector, which aims to realize US$4.5 billion in exports in 2018. The sector has a new optimism, reinforced by the excitement of confidence and new trade opportunities. We have consistently emphasized that these events play a very important role in terms of business volume, trade opportunities and new sales channels for sectors during periods of economic stagnation and the contraction of the domestic market: at ZUCHEX 2018, we experienced this first-hand. In the next three years, we aim to double the number of overseas visitors, consisting mostly of major purchasers, and create more added value for the sector as always at this Fair.
Pioneer of 2018 - Innovation
Presenting a broad range and variety of products, Zuchex International is one of the world's four largest industry events and a leader in Turkey. This year’s Fair showcased manufacturers’ emphasis on new technologies; highlights included porcelain plates using nano technologies, tableware, smart small home appliances and even sturdier cooking utensils, all developed using innovative materials.
A Trade Fair and Table Manners: Together for the First Time!

As well, the Fair featured cultural events, including the first Turkish Coffee Blend Competition. Organized by Zuchex, Cafe Rino won first place with a coffee blend of Ethiopian Harar (90 percent) and Brazil Minas (10 percent) coffee.
‘The Most Elegant Dining Table’ event saw Keramika ranked as the Most Elegant Dining Table, with a presentation that won acclaim from Fair visitors, as well as the votes of a seven-member jury consisting of the editorial directors of Turkey’s popular decoration and food magazines, food writers and professional chefs.
The “Flavours in the Anatolian Style” event was held for the first time at Zuchex 2018, and took place in a kitchen installed at the Fair and organised with the support of Mutfak Dostları Derneği (MDD). During the four-day event, kitchen professionals, including prominent chefs, food writers and bloggers, discussed local recipes with national and foreign visitors, who were also invited to sample the prepared dishes.
