Turkish Ministry of National Education supports GESS Turkey

The immediate interest in GESS Turkey by worldwide industry leaders clearly indicates that Turkey will be a major growth market for the education sector.  An education conference and exhibition with a difference, all content is free of charge and brings together educationalists from around the world and influential local practitioners to present a combination of inspirational talks and dynamic, hands-on workshops. The exhibition provides a perfect platform for international and local educational suppliers to access important decision makers in the education sector.

The Turkish Ministry of National Education, which has implemented the FATIH project, the world’s biggest and most comprehensive educational movement in terms of using technology in education, confirmed their support of the new launch event. GESS Turkey will be held on the 19 – 21 October 2017 at Istanbul WOW International Convention Center. Tarsus Group and the Turkish Ministry of National Education – General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Technologies have signed a protocol agreement.

Turkish Ministry of National Education YEĞİTEK Managing Director Bilal Tırnakçı made a statement about the protocol signed and indicated that it is important for them that GESS Fair has chosen Turkey. He emphasized that the conferences to be organized at GESS Turkey will enable to promote FATİH Project at international platform. Mr. Tırnakçı said that this event will allow to establish new cooperation. “Technology has become the new building block of education in Turkey and in the world. We will continue to take new steps to improve our education. We believe that GESS Turkey is one of these steps”.

Douglas Emslie, Group Managing Director of Tarsus Group, said: “The GESS brand has become one of the key players in the international education sector and this new event in Turkey allows us to build on our expertise.” Mr Emslie added: “Providing services to over 16 million students, the Turkish national education system is a very important market for the international education industry. İFO Fuarcılık Managing Director Zekeriya Aytemur; “GESS Dubai has been running for 10 years, and will now bring to bear its global knowledge of the  education industry to Turkey as well”. He added that: “With the successful expansion of GESS to Mexico and Indonesia, the launch in Turkey is the next logical step, following successful talks with the authorised officers of the Turkish Ministry during GESS Dubai last year. There are many common points between the content of the fair and FATIH project and applications such as EBA of the Turkish Ministry of National Education. Based on the cooperation protocol that we signed with the Ministry, we can convert these common points into bigger advantages on a global scale’’.

The national education system of Turkey currently serves over 16 million students with 6.5 million students in pre-school education and 9 million students in secondary education. Educational expenses account for 13% of all government spending and with 5.45 million students in higher education; the Turkish education market closed the last year with 40% growth in the private sector alone and is recognised as a significant market for local and foreign companies providing products, services and technologies to the sector.
