Visitors place orders worth millions of US$ at Zuchex 2017

The 28th edition of Zuchex Housewares, Gift and Home Electricals Fair, which took place 21-24 September 2017 at The Tuyap exhibition and conference centre, Istanbul, demonstrated the resilience of the industry against a backdrop of economic pressure with a very healthy number of domestic and international exhibitors and visitors.

Tens of thousands of retailers from around Turkey and the wider world attended the show to catch the first glimpse of thousands of brand new products being launched by 506 exhibitors at the 2017 show.

The collective strength of the offering from established and new to market suppliers exhibiting across the show ensured Zuchex was an essential destination for the retail trade, which appeared fully galvanised in the face of challenging local and worldwide economic conditions.

Carefully considered styling combined with optimum functionality topped the agenda at the exhibition, which was beautifully presented giving attendees an inspiring show experience.

Attendance from international retailers was strong with marked growth in particular from Algeria, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Kosovo, Palestine, Kazakhstan and Qatar.

New features such as the matchmaking and seminar programmes drew a lot of interest, while numerous special events and celebrations underscored the importance of Zuchex as an undisputed hub of the housewares and home electrical’s trade.

As well as bringing thousands of market-leading suppliers together, event organiser Tarsus Group has also made significant investments in the free to access business content available at Zuchex. The large Seminar Theatre hosted an absorbing seminar programme put together by an expert content team, dedicated to providing visitors with a wealth of invaluable advice and information that will keep them ahead of the retail game in the coming year.

The programme provided all the knowhow and expertise a retailer would need to develop their business. Present within this part of the show were suppliers specialising in search engine optimisation (SEO), social media, email marketing, design inspiration and trend direction.

Tarsus Group has strengthened its partnership with Zucder the Turkish Housewares Association and implemented plans designed to inspire and support Turkish-based manufactures in their efforts to succeed in overseas markets. The partnership will boost international representation at Zuchex and other Tarsus Group exhibitions in the year ahead, providing Turkish suppliers with an entry point to international markets and offering a broad variety of pre-event and onsite benefits. These will include a number of matchmaking events in overseas markets, such as Mexico and Indonesia.

The Matchmaking programme delivered valuable networking opportunities for Zuchex members and non-members alike through its unique hosted buyer programme that saw over 200 high quality meetings take place across the venue.

Andrew Furness, Director of Tarsus Turkey and Life Media, subsidiaries of the organiser Tarsus Group, said “The positive feedback from exhibitors far exceeded our expectations and it was clear that the visitors were not only here to view the thousands of products on display, but were at Zuchex 2017 to place orders resulting in what we believe is the most successful Zuchex of recent years.” He went onto to say “Despite the challenging trading environment, Zuchex is still a magnet attracting high quality high volume buyers not just from Turkey but from around the region and the world.”
